    Felix Talibus

    ~. Turian .~ Male ~. 27 ~. Soldier: Havoc .~ “Saren Arterious?”.~

Felix continued to merely sip at his rancol as the liquid was beginning to make his stomach churn. He had not had the drink in some time so his immunity to its effects was dulled a bit. Regardless, he could not help but laugh a bit as Raziya stated to Leon that he should not have offered to pay for drinks if he was going to complain about it. The pale Turian gave her a frown but contented himself to merely enjoying his own beverage as Felix asked to know more about his two new companions. Bane seemed to give her usual Bane response, referring to him as simply ‘Turian’ rather than name. He gave her a mocked hurt look as he cast puppy green eyes in her direction. “Aw come on Bane, I know somewhere deep down under all that thick skin is a soft little girl who loves cute things…Raziya hide me.” he half ducked half hid behind the human female’s small frame as the Krogan glared at him and he half expected her to hit him. “Now Bane, you wouldn’t hit a girl would you? Plus you can’t ruin this beautiful face of mine, I just had it fixed!” He half-jokingly faked a scared appearance but enjoyed himself at the same time as Leon merely shook his head at the younger Turian’s silliness.

Raziya began to speak next as she quickly accused Leon once more of knowing more about her then he let on and stating she originated from Elysium. Felix was beginning to wonder what she had to hide, when his attention was caught by her explanation of her tangible fringe. It quite literally fascinated him as she gave insight to the silky strands purpose, running her fingers through it as if it were water. “Attracting mates, huh? Seems every species fringe does that but humans get to change theirs any which way they want.” He ran his talons over his own fringe, feeling its length and noting it was still not as long as some more mature male Turians like Leon’s, indicating his youth to his species. Then Raziya confirmed his suspicions and stated it did indeed grow back while pulling a few strands out. “You can pull it out? Alright, now we’re learning some important info here. I had no idea, but that is really interesting.” Felix’s curiosity was slated for the moment as he took a few more sips from his rancol before finally having to put the think down.

Suddenly a deep growl from Bane made him look up to see an obviously drunk human male in her grasp. The Krogan lifted him off his feet and told him to leave or he would probably never get the chance to again. Leon’s eyes narrowed at the situation as Felix stilled himself from getting involved as well. It seemed the Krogan had it under control as the two males left in fright. “Jeez, you think those two would know better than to come to a table with a Krogan at it. Nice threat there Bane, I like it.” He gave her an approving nod as he cast a glance to Raziya for her reaction to the scene. “We gather a lot of attention if you haven’t noticed Felix.” Leon’s voice broke in as Felix cast a glance back at him and only then began to realize that none of the other patrons were really sitting in a group like theirs. “Guess Turians, Humans, and Krogans aren't often seen drinking together.” He mumbled as others glared at their little group while the rest just ignored them. “And you did not notice. Very perceptive there Felix, but it speaks well on your nature. Our races need to look past our transgressions and start learning from each other rather than disputing over who is at fault.” Felix agreed to this logic but never really gave much thought on race. It made sense they were not a welcoming sight. “Either way, I believe it’s best to start speaking about business. There are some things you should know before you head out after Cerberus.”

Felix gave Leon a curious glance and wondered what he meant. His demeanor was more serious now as he noticed Leon’s expression change and the older male began to explain. “The Cerberus group at the docks has already left. More than likely they were informed of your questionings by someone…” Felix probably already knew who it was and was now regretting ever letting that Turian get off with just a punch to his ugly face. “But, I was able to determine their next location through some digging of my own. Omega seems to be where they are now and it is not surprising since they are acquiring more slaves there and dropping some off. I have procured a ship for you as well as someone who will help you get there. Do you recall Saren Arterious? Me, him, and your father used to be in the same group together back during the relay incident with the humans.” Felix had heard the name; Saren was a well-known individual among his own kind and known to others for his Specter status. Although he had never met the Turian personally, he was curious as to why another Specter was on this. “So what, the council does not think I can handle this?" Felix had received no word from them on the subject and Leon simply shrugged. “Specters have gone missing as well Felix. It makes sense to me for you to be in a group rather than alone. However, I neglected to mention to him who would all be joining. Saren is not very fond of Krogans and is an activist against all humans ever since the conflict.”

Felix clicked his mandibles at this, “Do you think Raziya is safe to come with us then?” He had heard his father speak of Saren’s hate and was weary on how he would react if he did see Razyia was joining them on this mission. Leon frowned, “I do not believe he would hurt her outright. The man is passionate about his hate but he would not go killing off humans for no good reason. She should be fine, but I would advise you, Raziya, to stay out of his way as much as possible. It would be better for everyone that way.” Felix felt a growing dislike for this Saren as Leon continued on, “The ship is a Turian model and should hold the four of you with ease. I informed him to meet us at the docking bay tonight a few hours from now. Oh, and the Primarch sends his regards to you, he is already on his way back to Palavan as we speak.” Felix looked up at this as he tried to process all this information, “Dad’s gone back so soon? That’s odd of him, since he was the one who got me into this mess in the first place.” Felix had to suppress a growl as he remembered his last meeting with the Primarch. It had not gone well but it was odd behavior of him to leave so soon. Leon shook his head to this and drank the last of his drink. “The Primarch is meant to be there for his people. He has gone back to do just that and leaves you with the task of recovering your family and finding out more about this terrorist group. For now at least, just enjoy what time you have left here before you head out. I have also already moved any essentials you three may have had to the ship, as well as food and provisions to your given species. After tonight you must make haste to Omega. This situation needs to be resolved as quickly as possible.”

Felix was clenching his mandibles against his face in frustration but understood where Leon was coming from. He pushed away his drinks as he placed his talons on his brow plate in an effort to ward off an oncoming headache. “So when do we need to meet Saren?” His question was flat and held irritation as Leon answered in kind, “Preferibbly as soon as you finish your drinks. I will not be able to escort you there since I have other matters to attend to, but I wish you all luck. Remember, Saren is hard to get along with but he is the best at what he does. I have never met another Specter like him but I will caution you on this; don’t let his methods change you Felix. You and him may have more in common than you think but torturing is never the answer. Just keep in mind what I taught you and I will keep in touch.” Leon placed some credits on the table to pay for the tab before he turned to Raziya and Bane, “It was a pleasure meeting you two. Please look after Fleix, we wouldn't want you two dying from an unexpected car crash now would we?” And with that the paler male was gone, leaving Felix lost in his own thoughts about the whole situation at hand.

He looked to his small group with round green eyes while his mandibles fluttered slightly. “Well, seems like we are going to Omega guys. Any thoughts?” He let his gaze rest on both of them as he tried to gauge their expressions. He would not know how to react to such a prestigious individual such as Saren, but so far his opinion on the guy was split in two. He respected him because of everything he had done and understood most of his species hated the humans. The relay incident was only ten years ago and the Turians had already paid their alimony for the human race. It was easy to see why tension was still present, but regardless, he harbored none of this hate for himself. Humans simply fascinated him, and while there were definitely bad ones out there were good ones as well. Just like any other race in the galaxy. “Guess Leon sure laid it all on us at the last minutes. Should have known by now that when he offers to pay for drinks it usually means he has some heavy info to lay on you…” His expression was masked now as hundreds of thoughts went through his head. For some reason he was more worried for Raziya’s wellbeing and had seen for himself the hate his kind had for her own. Those who took part in the first contact wars told horrific tales of the events, but was it not the humans who won and showed they were more than adaptable to be a part of council space?

He let a small sigh escape as he got up and pulled on his armor’s collar to stretch his neck. Things like these made his scarred face burn and his left mandible ache. Turian ships were not exactly known for their hospitable interiors and memories of boot camp were already beginning to flash across his mind. They were brutal and borderline torturous to their recruits. Something told him that Saren would be like those officers who valued beating a lesson into you in order for you to understand. Which also meant his mouth was going to get him into trouble if he did not watch it, “Ugh, I’m already getting shivers. Let’s go meet our Turian Specter shall we? I've got a feeling he may not be happy to see us though…”

    ~.:Raziya Arauxo:. ~ .:Raz/Razi:. ~ .:Female:. ~ .:22:. ~ .:Human:. ~ .:Vanguard:. ~

That warmth that usually comes with strong alcohol was flooding out from the center of her body to her finger tips. It made her drink just a little more, made her think that rancol would actually be tasty right about now, made her... “What the hell do you think you're doing?” Razi stared at Felix behind her, surprised at this behavior. She wasn't angry, just genuinely confused as to the turian's sanity. “If it's not your bad driving, it's trying to get me killed through your own suicidal tendencies. I'll help you at him if he misbehaves again,” she added to Bane, holding two empty hands up in case of an angry krogan. Bargain their safety now for future turian mauling if he pulls a bad stunt!

But then it was hair demonstrating time, and after all that was said and done she made sure to clear up some misconceptions, just in case. “I can pull it out one or a few strands at a time. There is a lot of hair... But if you grab a hold of it, it is extraordinarily painful and generally a method to attack someone in a way. It is a hindrance, and most people in a combat situation keep it short or shaved for a reason.” She flips her own hair over her shoulder, obviously not following her own rules about keeping it short.

While Razi had been very good about keeping an eye on her surroundings, she definitely was letting things slip with the alcohol now invading her system. She had just finished her drink when she caught sight of the men approaching in reflections. It was only movement but it made her stiffen. By the time she tilted her head that way to see the approaching danger, Bane was already dealing with it. She watched with a side-glance, not even giving the men that much attention. If they looked closely, the human woman was certainly sending them her own death glare... Instead of thanking the krogan, however, she slid her own rancol drink over to Bane. Razi was perfectly capable of handling it herself, but she certainly did not need anymore alcohol to impair her attention anymore.

“It certainly isn't the perfect atmosphere we are creating here, and even less so for serious talk,” she mumbled... A lot of it had to do with the fact that she felt the occasional stare from old contacts as well. She was certain they were no where near happy she was hanging around authority figures and looking pretty buddy-buddy with them. At least she was going on a potentially one-way trip to... “Omega?” She knew she was in this mission all the way through and perhaps it was the booze that made her show her discomfort at the way this conversation was going. Famous Specters, space ships, immediate departure. No, Razi was not a happy Razi.

She was certainly not happy at the second person in just moments making a claim she couldn't take care of herself. She bristled at Felix now, narrowing her eyes at the turian. “I certainly can agree with the old turian that there are plenty of human scum that make up the majority of our population, but I can take care of my own damn self especially among authority. I'm somewhat of an expert at staying out of their damn way, unless they drop credits at my feet with a job offer.” That being, of course, Felix himself. She only listened to the rest of the conversation among the turians, nurturing a third drink already that came by some time ago. She had been chatty, usually more quiet, very much like Bane was... She nodded her head politely at Leon but the alcohol also made her waggle a few fingers his way. “Meeting, sure. Thanks for the job, if I live I'll be seeing you again.” Whether to demand more payment, another drink, or even more likely... a job. She wasn't setting good resume for her previous job description, hanging around Specters and C-sec. Word probably already traveled.

“Thoughts? We're leaving across the galaxy tonight, with an old turian that will probably be thinking of killing me in my sleep, chasing a group that is already out to kill us with everything they have. All that and we're going to start it off pretty damn tipsy--” Raziya knocked back her third drink and placed it down, finally calling it a night. It was already hitting her, and having just had breakfast with Felix that morning, it definitely was hitting her hard. Had it really just been that morning? “Let's go kill these bastards and save everyone. It's about time I do something good,” she adds more to herself. Even if it cost her her life. Her own thoughts were running overtime, trying to sort itself with her alcohol-addled mind.

Raziya made sure to stand without a wobble, looking as sober as if she had just woken up, even if she did not feel that way. She had a krogan at her side and at the moment did not fear for her life, but that did not mean she wanted to show weakness. She made eye contact with a burly batarian across the way and lifted her chin. Someone that knew her, someone watching what she was doing exactly... She made sure her back was turned to the batarian before addressing Felix. “ If I could meet you there, I'd like to try to make one last stop before leaving.” She paused and her eyes scanned the room. So many potential attackers to follow her if she left alone... “Though I've come to fully accept the fact that I lost that opportunity when I accepted the job.” Within moments, she made a decision. And it was not one she was happy with... Her shoulders dropped; it could have been missed except for someone really looking for the change. “Nevermind. Let's go.”

There was no way that Raziya was going to endanger her mother even more. It was best to not make any contact, not leaving behind that opportunity at this point and leading any potential threats right to the person she was trying to protect in that galaxy.

    .: Personal History :.
"I grew up in a typical Earth household with me mother and father. Didn't have any sibling 'cause my parents said one was enough. I was a pretty wild teenager; I liked to drink and frequent the street fights. But when I was getting to be about 20, I started to take my life seriously. My father was a shuttle mechanic and engineer, so we made pretty decent money, since space exploration was booming and all that. I shared my father's natural talent and affinity for the mechanical, so that was the career I was beginning to pursue. That was when my poor father was offered a lucrative job on Shanxi. You can probably guess the rest.

Our whole family relocated to the young colony world. While there, I worked with me father, learning his trade. Mum took up a small business selling parts and tools to the people of the colony. I even met a pretty girl with black hair named Amy. She was 5 months older than me, and she was doing was kind a scientific study or somethin. Her and I dated for nearly a year. She wasn't the prettiest girl in the colony, but damn I loved her. She was like family to me.

After spending a year I think at Shanxi, the first contact war started. Seems like before we could blink, the damned Turians were in the skies droppin space debris on our heads! I quickly joined up with the local militia. I couldn't wait to smash their faces in. First time I killed one was actually hand to hand. I had some cheap armor and a rifle, like other militia did, but he just out and out charged at me. You see, we were guarding different points along the outskirts of town one night during the initial siege, and a few of them opened fire not far away. I started running that way when one just tackled me. Don't know why he didn't shoot me, but we just started fightin it out! Now, I love a good fight. When I did street fights as a kid, it was for the thrill, not 'cause I needed money or nothin. I calculate my attacks, I don't just swing wildly, 'cause that'll get you killed. The turian nice armor, and since they were built differently, I had no idea how to attack him! It was all I could do to keep dodging him. Finally I was able to get his helmet off, poke him in the eye, rip off his mandible and snap his neck! Not the most graceful thing to do, but it sure got the job done. By the time I limped back to town, half of it was gone. They leveled the damn place. I never found out if was a bomb or a freckin space rock. Point is, my dad died 'cause the house collapsed on him. Amy got her head blown fucking off 'cause she thought she could pick up a rifle and fight a fully trained turian soldier... Me mum did survive though. But soon after that, the colony surrendered, and the rest is history.

Not long after that, I joined the Terra Firma organization and got involved. But that was all political shit...I had bloodlust. I wanted revenge. So I said goodbye to me mum, took one of the nicest shuttles my dad built, and started doing more militant work with some of my old Terra Firma buddies.

But that was a long darn time ago. So much has changed. I'm not as vengeful as I used to be, but I still hold a special place in me heart for Turians (he pronounces it turyens).

Yeah, so I have an accent. Mum was so obsessed with preserving our Irish / Celtic heritage that she had me genetically pigmented at a young age to reflect it. I really hated the way I looked at first, but I guess I derived some identity from it. Accent came from my parents, who both always had a bit of an accent. Guess that's just how they were raised. I still keep in touch with her though. Send her some money, 'cause she's gettin a bit old."

    .: Your Greatest Fears :.
"Philosophically speaking, my greatest fear in life is living a pointless life. When I die, I want to feel as if I've done something worth while, accomplished what I was put in this universe for. I want my life to mean something, and not just be a guy who was hired muscle. But I feel like I've got a lot more acomplishin to do before my time comes...

Also, Leaf Nymphs, those little bugs used to creep me the hell out back on Earth. Don't know why..."

    .: Body Markings :.
"Surprisingly, I haven't been too seriously injured in all my years. Been shot a few times, but never anything scar inducing, especially with modern medical tech. During my time with Terra Firma, I worked in the alliance some, which is where I got my biotics. There I got the alliance symbol tattooed on my right shoulder. Later, when I left the alliance, I had the tattoo added onto, transforming it into a diamond shape with a raised fist behind it. Why did I leave the alliance? That's my own damn business..."

    .: The Inner You :.
"Well, some people call me a jackass. I do come across a bit rough, but I'm not completely insensitive. Another misconception about me is that I'm a stupid brute. I'm actually a lot smarter than my accent might let on. I don't mind havin a good time at the bar and kidding around, maybe startin a brawl if I feel good. What I don't like is people sneakin around and running away in combat. I like to dive in head first with a strong biotic charge and think on my feet; basically make things up as I go along. Some of my work requires bein sneaky and lying, but hey, gotta do what you gotta do.
    .: Weapon Of Choice :.
I prefer this beautiful Geth Plasma shotgun I picked up a few years back. The way it uses plasma to melt a face off is priceless. Plus, it's darn accurate for a shotgun. Works at both close and medium range. I also pack a Saber assault rifle with a scope for long range fighting. Got a Carnifex sidearm tucked away for when things go bad, not to mention a custom weapon I keep on hand for really special occasions..."
    .: Other Info :.
"As far as my biotic training, I have L3 implants. I have really taken to the biotics and have a lot of raw power. Problem is, I don't have a lot of concentration. That's what they told me during my conditioning and training. My instructor always got on to me 'cause I had no focus. Ask me to blow a big door open, sure. Ask me to carefully move a table, I'd fuck it up bad. Plus, as far as technical skills, I may be a damn good engineer and mechanic, but when it comes to computer hacking, forget it. I would've been omnitool illiterate if it weren't so important in this day and age. I can maybe hack a door open, but that's it. For anything else, I ask a Quarian.

Now where's my money? What?! I thought you said I'd be getting paid for this interview!"

    ~.:Braig Hellguard:. ~ .:Male:. ~ .:37:. ~ .:Human:. ~ .:Vanguard:. ~

The sound of a shuttle engine slowly whirring to a stop could be heard amidst the social chaos of Omega. In that lone shuttle, Braig Hellguard let out a sigh. He relished the quiet inside his cabin, and knew that the second he stepped off the dock, he was to be immersed in a world of pandemonium and stench.

Braig stood up, and walked lackadaisically towards the back. The cool air of the cabin would soon be washed away by the warm filth of Omega. Braig donned his black and orange armor piece by piece. As usual, he left off his helmet for the purpose of comfort. He was thinking of the mission ahead of him. He had someone to meet, and as usual in his recent line of work, keep a low profile. Braig armed himself well, knowing that Omega was a place of crime and debauchery; a place where he could fit in.

Part of him couldn’t wait to get out there. All these years and the thrill of a good fight never left his blood. Sometimes this notion, combined with his pigmentation and accent made him come across (at least to other humans) as very stereotypically Irish. But hey, if that’s who he was, then that’s who he’d be.

His train of thought was broken as his arm automatically hit the button to open the shuttle door. Now his thoughts were on his surroundings. Braig flashed on his omnitool to give a once over of the mission intel. He held a brisk pace as his eyes rolled over the data. He was to meet a Volus named Numil for-

“HI FRIEND!!” Braig was startled to a stop as a salarian with a big wide grin starred deep into his eyes.

This was the very, um, man, that Braig was worried about running into. Every time he came to Omega, Quiddles was always there, somehow, to present his brilliant new investment opportunity. First time he could remember, Quiddles asked him to invest in varren milk farms…another time it was for the super high-tech colonization of a sun.

Did he live at the docks? Did he do this to other people? Or does he somehow know just when Braig is on his way? All of these questions would have to be ignored now. Braig replied stoically, “You want something?”

“I think I can interest you in a little deal, friend! You see, some friends and I are looking to get started in a certain kind of ‘militant’ business, and we thought with your generous investment of only 49,999 credits, we could-“

“Screw off salarian.” Braig cut the unusually eager salarian off. He tried to keep walking forward. Usually, he doesn’t mind jesting with the silly alien, but today, he was all business. He had a pretty standard mission, but this one felt more important than the others.

“But my dear bosom friend! We already have guns, and expert (self-taught) training too! We just need the investment to upgrade our armor systems and get field equipment!”

This caught Braig’s attention, “Wait, what kind of operation you runnin?”

“Well, we thought it would be a, uh, fantastic idea to slip in and raid some of the more well to do residences around Omega. Have you heard some of the purchases Aria T’loak has made? And we’re the best team of cracked salarian commandos this side of the Omega Nebula!”

Braig thought for a minute. It had only been a matter of time before Quiddles here realized how much money a good hired gun on Omega made. This could prove to be a fortuitous little thing that landed in his lap.

Just in case, he decided to get the salarian’s information. If nothing else, it could at least prove to be a bit of fun.

Feeling a bit late, he upped his pace. He reluctantly nodded to the turian guard in front of the Afterlife doors. The doors split open for him, and Braig was hit with a blast of bass from the dance music inside. His whole being was shaken by the music, and the seizure inducing lights splashed off the walls and flooded the vast room in an intangible torrent of shapes and colors.

Braig took in the room for a moment, catching the eyes of a few patrons. He tried to absorb the demeanors around him to extrapolate potential threats. This was something he made a habit for any new place he entered.

He made his way to the bar, sitting down in front of an asari bartender. She glanced thoughtfully at him, and smiled. “Hey asari, over here!” The smile quickly faded to disdain at his rude call.

“My name is Arina. What can I get for you?”

Braig eyed the bottles behind the counter. There was a red drink, a blue drink, and a green. He thought carefully about which one he should choose.

    “Water.”

The bartender rolled her eyes and turned away to get his simple drink. He took the moment to glance around for his contact. The bartender returned and handed him a glass of water, “Here you go, lightweight.” Braig gulped his water just before his omnitool chirped. Braig opened it up to allow a male voice to speak through.

“Hellguard, I just wanted to inform you that your contact has been delayed somewhat. Apparently Numil thought he could back out at the last second, but we intercepted his transmission. Perhaps that volus will better serve us in the labs. Make sure to complete the transaction first though. Also, I’ve received word that Talibus is on his way. Don’t underestimate him. He makes a habit of playing down his skills, but he’s still a Spectre. You have your mission, and as always, you are doing a great service for Cerberus.”

Braig replied “Aye sir. Not a problem.” The omnitool clicked off and darkened once more. “Hey asari, looks like I’m in for the long haul. What else ya got?”

Mass Effect: Book 1- Transgressions (Complete) - Page 3 Empty The Start

Post  Guest Wed Oct 24, 2012 5:59 pm

Bane nodded to Razi as she slid her rancol down to her, taking that as her way of saying 'thank you'. She only half listened to Felix as he talked to Razi, looking around Chora's den in her own thoughts. Contrary to popular belief, Krogan did 'think'. Mostly the females of her race, but they did. Bane always seemed to be thinking deep complicated thoughts, she was only able to hide it well behind her scowling face. It was her eyes that usually gave her away. Whether it be emotions or thoughts, they deceived her.

It didn't take long for her to become restless, tapping her fingers on her now empty glass. Then, something Felix said caught her immediate attention.

    "Omega?!"

Her head turned to stare directly at the turian, silver eyes suddenly filled with anxiety. Omega was exactly where Bane needed to be and she wanted to leave 'now'.

"When do we leave? I can't sit around anymore, Turian!"

She squeezed the glass in irritation. Where did this come from? She quickly controlled herself and calmed down, glancing away from the others. Felix asked about her past. Well, he would have to wait to find out anything. The past was not a very 'talkative' subject for Bane.

    Felix Talibus

~. Turian .~ Male ~. 27 ~. Soldier: Havoc .~ “So, all in favor for Saren being an ass, raise your hand.”.~

Felix listened patiently as Raziya and Bane both gave insight of their thoughts on the situation at hand. He was a little surprised at how Raziya snapped at him before but said nothing in retort and just chalked it up to them having a long day. That and the woman certainly knew how to take down a few drinks. Bane, on the other hand was showing uncharacteristic eager for them to be on their way, and he gave her a thoughtful stare as she suddenly grew impatient for them to leave for Omega. Felix clicked his mandibles in a scoffing manner to Raziya’s comment on traveling the galaxy half drunk, “Correction, you’re the one who seems tipsy. I’m perfectly fine. Granted, drinking the rancol will indeed having me puking up my guts in about an hour but at least I’m not guzzling it down like her.” He nodded his head to Bane who went through the stuff with apparent ease and was still determined not to reveal anything about herself or her past.

Felix relented and stood at the ready. Turning his gaze towards the exit and determining how things would play out. He would have liked to visit Harry at the medical bay but knew he could not place his own selfish needs before the mission. It saddened him and he still had no word on her condition, making him push the dark thoughts away and drawing his attention to Raziya as she spoke at his side. He noted that she was tense, perhaps because of the mission? But her eyes would subtly dart back and forth across unseen faces and Felix got the impression she knew some of these patrons, but made no move to make it known. Felix gave no indication of his suspicions either and simply looked down to the human as he listened to her debate with herself, stating she would meet them there so as to make on last stop. However, she paused. Was that regret he was sensing? She was purposefully hiding her body language, something he would do if he was being watched by unfriendly eyes. Finally she dismissed the idea and instead voted for them to be on their way.

Felix kept quiet on his observations. He barely noticed her shoulder’s drop and it was the only thing he could pick up that suggested her sadness. It was not an emotion he expected her to have shown and something that she made sure to hide very well. Felix watched her make her way to the door with a hidden expression, he tried to think what she may be leaving behind, but then were they not all leaving something behind? He could not dwell on it now and turned to look at Bane as he gestured her to follow. “Come on Bane; let’s get ourselves over to the docking bay.” His voice was absent as his thoughts made him half aware of his surroundings. He leisurely walked out of the bar and summoned a transit for all of them to take to the docking bays.

    .........

It did not take too long to arrive and Felix was more or less silent on the way over. Seems he had been doing a lot of thinking lately and getting away from the Citadel may be a good thing for them all. They had already arrived at the main docking station and it did not take them long to find the ship number of Saren Arterious. Several individuals had pointed them in the right direction and half of them wore an abrasive expression. The ship docked at the suggested number was indeed a Turian model. Sharp and sleek, the ship itself was of higher quality then what any of his military would provide. He guessed Saren requested the model to be made specifically for his needs. “I’m going to assume you are Talibus?” A deep echoed voice sounded behind him as he turned to face a more mature male Turian with pale silvery dark skin and a much sharper fringe indicating his age. Bright blue eyes bored down at him and Felix had seen the male enough in vids to know this was the famous Specter. “Saren Arterious? I was sent here by the council to work with you on the Cerberus mission. Leon should have informed of us meeting you here.”

Felix felt himself straighten out of impulse and could feel the commanding presence this man garnered. However, Saren just stood rigid with arms crossed, leering down at him in silence. He watched his eyes trail over him in silent condescending evaluation and then trail behind him to look at his team. His brow plates forwarded and his mandibles barely clicked as he flared his nose to catch the scents. Felix felt as if they were about to attacked but kept his ground as Saren finally let a low growl escape, “Human. Krogan….this is the company you keep? All three of you reek of alcohol, and here I was to believe you to be like your father, but you’re just a pup who was given a position of power out of desperation. ” Even though Saren’s voice was even, Felix could feel the hate seethe off of him in waves and was a bit taken back by the intensity of it. He was immediately put down by the older male and Felix was already beginning to think this was going to be a long ride. Felix had to bite his tongue before he said anything he would regret, even he knew that he had to show respect to a Turian of such high status. Old traditions were hard to break in his society.

“They are my friends and I would appreciate it if we could not let race become a problem. I think Cerberus is a much bigger threat than a couple of humans and krogans, don’t you?” The way Saren turned sharply to him made him tense up out of aggression. The Turian was right in his face before he could blink and the challenge was evident as Saren spoke clearly and without restraint. “You dare call these aliens friends?” Saren growled those last words as a mocking threat as he grabbed Felix’s armor collar to bring him close, “Know your place pup! We may be on the same mission but that does not mean I have to work with the creatures that slaughtered my people and then ask for more power. They have no restraint, no honor, and if they are not careful we will do to them what we did to the Krogan.” Saren pushed him roughly away as Felix growled threateningly and glared at him, biting his tongue till he could taste blood. Saren just did the same but stood taller and dominate over him before turning and throwing an aggressive stare at Bane and Raziya. He stood there for a good minute, as if daring them to start a fight but Felix looked to the two and shook his head to warn them not to. If they started a fight with Saren, a well-known Specter and Turian, then they would be the ones in trouble and it would be exactly what he wanted. Finally he turned and bellowed back at them, “Get on the ship! We leave now.” Felix just threw a death stare at the male as he walked away and into the ship before following close behind.

    ..........

The Ship itself was more open than most military Turian vessels but the presence of Saren somehow made it more than uncomfortable to be aboard. The older male said nothing as he sat in the front and started the thrusters, preparing the ship to depart as he ignored their presence aboard his vessel. It did not take a genius to know he was not pleased with them being here, but his hate was too deeply rooted to be originated from simple dislike of aliens. Saren loathed them, but for what reason he could not tell. The past was always filled with hurt and pain, Felix could only assume that maybe something happened in the Relay 314 incident that may have caused him to be like this. As if thinking about the Turian summoned him, Saren turned in his seat and looked back at the three, “Omega is on the other side of the nebula, ETA 14 hours at best. Stay in the back barracks and out of my way till we get there.” And with that the ship took off nearly throwing Felix off balance. He growled softly to himself, clicking his mandibles in irritation but looking back to Bane and Raziya while nodding to the back.

Felix was no stranger to the layout of vessels like these. Barracks were in the back with a small mess hall and a large open training room to the left to prep soldiers before battle. Genders…were not taken into account aboard militant turian ships. Male and female Turians slept in tight quarters together and that certainly brought back some memories for him, as he smiled to himself at all the trouble he got into when he was younger. “I call top bunk!” Felix threw a sly glance back at Raziya and Bane, dismissing the oppressing air that Saren had over them just moments ago and taking a running leap before claiming a random top bunk of his own. “Oh yeah, just as hard and uncomfortable as I remember…” He spoke sarcastically as he rolled around and looked at the two upside down with a smile. “So, all in favor for Saren being an ass, raise your hand.” Felix raised his hand at the obvious as he tried to lighten the mood. He soon got up and jumped off from his bunk as he searched for some lounging clothes. No point in sleeping in armor when you had fourteen hours to do nothing.

“Well you two, make yourself at home.” Felix spoke as he unclasped his armor and began to remove his chest plate and arm guards. “From what Leon said there should be some consumable food for you to eat in the mess hall, best to stay away from Saren if we can. That guy is just looking for a fight…” He clicked his mandibles aggressively as he took off his underlining shirt and searched for some regular lounging cloths. All he could find though were your basic Turian wear, a blue long sleeved coat with mid abdomen clasps and matching navy pants. “Figures Leon would pack these, ‘You should dress nicer Felix and be more respectable’ pah! More like dress like an old man.” He mocked Leon’s voice, imagining what his old boss would say if he was here right now. He looked to Raziya and Bane and raised a brow plate at them, “Well, I had no idea you two wanted to watch. Curious to see what a sexy Turian like me looks like, huh?” He grinned wickedly as he teased them and rolled his scarred arm to alleviate the pain that had built up. His bare chest was now exposed as his scars gleamed pale against his dark skin. He was glad they were finally healing but wondered if the ache in his left shoulder would ever go away. “Good thing I’m more proficient with my right arm.” He grimaced as he stretched his arms and a flash of pain creased his features, “Left one seems to tense up if I don’t stretch it on a regular basis. Well, I’ll meet you in the mess hall in a second, just have to get something more comfortable on…” He proceeded to undress knowing the females would leave as he smiled at his own disregard to if they watched or not.

Mass Effect: Book 1- Transgressions (Complete) - Page 3 Empty Friends???

Post  Guest Mon Oct 29, 2012 6:08 am

The Krogan took her sweet time leaving, downing one more glass of rancol before following Felix and Razi's lead. She cursed at herself for acting out like that. She remained quiet for the rest of the trip. It wasn't till the transit stopped ans she got out, that she really stopped to think about just who they were meeting.

Bane's muscles tensed at the mere sight of this old Turian. His facade screamed "dangerous". His presence alone made her weary. And angry. Bane caught Felix's same reaction as the other male approached, his cold eyes scrutinizing him. Then he settled on her and Razi. Blue eyes disgusted with the just the females' presence. She puffed up slightly at his look and stared right back. An unspoken challenge. Even his voice was prideful and snide, causing Bane to snort with her own disgust. Her irritation with the male rose a bit more as he talked to Felix like more of a servant than a fellow Specter. Strange. She continued to stay quiet and watch the conversation closely, until the Turian pushed his luck a bit more. Bane let out a low growl at the Turians words and was about to say something when something Felix said caught her a bit off guard.

    ...Friends?

She had not been called that in...well, so long she had forgotten. She turned her gaze back to Felix, staring at him with a somewhat confused expression. They were...friends???

"-and if they are not careful we will do to them what we did to the Krogan.”

Bane's body tensed and straightened, a deep snarl rumbling in her throat. How DARE he! Her fingers cracked as they curled into fists. Her plate rattled and turned red in anger at Saren's unneeded insults. She was close to ripping the worthless piece of trash a third hole to breathe out of when Felix gave a sign not to retaliate. She hesitated and thought about the mission. This over grown Varren wasn't worth their time let alone a bullet.

Their new quarters were nice but a bit too...cramped for her taste. Saren's insults still itched at her as Felix called the top bunk. She only shook her head at him. He was a strange one all right. To her anyways..She sat down on the bottom bunk across the room in silence, watching Felix take pride in the fact that females seemed to love him. Bane did find herself staring at the scars along the Turian's neck and shoulder, taking in every detail of possible weaknesses in the future. Plus, his looks were only a bonus.

She gave a tired sigh and began her own 'breaking-down' process, starting with her shoulder pads, down. When she reached her chest plate, she turned away from the two. Her back was next, unhooking quite easily. Four jagged and massive claw scars ran from her shoulder blade down to her floating rib, the tough skin slightly discolored. It was obviously old by the discoloration, but that didn't stop the impact of it. Her chest fared no better. More scars, large and small were covering her muscular frame, some of them strange and some of them recognizable as different types of bullet wounds.

Bane rotated her shoulders and flinched at a loud click.

"Its a bit cramped for my taste...but its doable..."

    ~.:Raziya Arauxo:. ~ .:Raz/Razi:. ~ .:Female:. ~ .:22:. ~ .:Human:. ~ .:Vanguard:. ~

To say that Raziya had a lot to think about on their way to the space port was an understatement. She was leaving behind the one thing that she lived for, albeit leaving her mother behind with a large sum of credits now in her account. That morning was the last time she was likely to see her mother again... Even with the alcohol working through her body, always taking its time to really start affecting her, sh still recalled that memory clearly. Getting home, the tired older woman giving her only daughter who had been out late into a night a weary disappointed look. Her mother must have always disproved of Razi's lifestyle... and still she was always working hard in a job she hated to make sure they had enough credits, trying hard not to allow her daughter to pick up more work.

And now Raziya was leaving her alone. She had not said goodbye for her mother's protection... All this and more waged a war in her mind during the ride over and the walk towards the right ship to meet with the famous Saren Spectre. Was Razi was getting wobblier on her feet? Was it because she was looking at her surroundings more often, for enemies or escape? Maybe nerves? When they were closer, within sight, of the older turian she certainly was able to fake sober a lot better. She straightened her posture and lifted her chin and tried to look like a stuck up Alliance soldier. That is until Saren opened his mandibles. She couldn't help the fact that her brows lowered and her eyes narrowed and made sure her steely-eyed glare met the turian in the eye if he looked her way.

There was definitely a shared glance with Bane. First the krogan made her curious about the reaction she gave at the bar about Omega, and now here she was sharing a very similar reaction with her krogan companion: Instant hatred. And this was before he turned his attention onto them... She had no love for the majority of the human race herself, but it still made her bristle very obviously. Her hand was twitching for her pistol, Specter or not! She was also caught off guard a bit when she was called a 'friend'. It helped hold her tongue even though she really wanted to say something. At least she respected Felix enough not to cause their leader more trouble with the angry man... except by the end she could not help burning a hole at the retreating Saren's back with her glare and a quip, “I never knew turians could get ugly, much less /that/ ugly. I've seen dead things nicer looking than him.” If she said that too loud, blame it on the alcohol.

Raziya was not looking forward to getting into any enclosed space with /that/ turian, but she did nonetheless. Not without muttering the whole way at Bane's side about craggy old turians with sticks up their ass, among other things. She kept close to Felix, if only because she was unsure about the procedure and because it was likely safest next to the other turian. “Gladly,” she says in regards to staying out of Saren's way as she turned to get to the barracks as fast as she could. Leon was not lying when he said he had some things moved to the ship... She immediately sought out the smaller human stuff, picking at her limited supplies and clothes.

“I'd like to call him a lot worse things than just simply being an ass,” Razi hissed back. Lighten the mood, light a fire under a drunk Razi... same thing right? “I hate humans almost as much as he does no doubt but mostly because the majority I met remind me of that Saren guy. Xenophobic waste of space, rotten pieces of--” And so came a string of drunken curses that immediately came to a grinding halt when she looked away from inspecting her limited amount of clothes and found an undressing turian in the barracks. Wanted to watch? Oops. So she was... And watch she did. It wasn't like she was drooling over the man or anything, there was simply open curiosity on her face. She saw a lot of turians in armor in her line of work and then a lot of casual clothes on the citadel. But bare chested? No, that was certainly a first. Now she was openly gawking at the scars too and her eyes were shamelessly looking over him (again, blame the alochol), her eyes moved down and down-- and oh look at that! An undressing female krogan! Her head swiveled around to the other side.

It was certainly a day for firsts for Raziya, and she was probably one of the only humans to ever see a female krogan in this state of vulnerability. She certainly felt left out right now, being the only one fully dressed. She took some lounging pants, a long old shirt that looked well worn and loved, and then joined in the stripping fun. It probably was the alcohol helping as well, as she was likely more reserved than the other two. Especially more than Felix. She may not have had the amount of scars her companions had, but there was one jagged thick vertical white line along her side at the end of her ribs that stood out against her darker skin. “If someone told me yesterday I'd be half-naked in a cramped room with a female krogan and a turian Specter also getting out of their armor... I'd probably ask them what new drug they were smoking. It's definitely been a long day,” she noted as she tossed her blood, ripped, and sweat-stained clothes off to the side. How wrong Felix was... leave the room? Now? No bloody way. It was totally not to watch more stripping turian (or krogan for that matter). It was also that she didn't want to run into Saren alone just yet. She was waiting to leave together.

“Inconvenient to have a bad arm, even if it is your less used one. That's an unfortunate handicap you received... recent?” Judging by Felix's scars and all, she was certainly curious and her loose tongue was still going at it. She gave Bane a curious look too, but it was the turian that gave her the opening. And on a completely different subject... “And what you said back there, about being friends... What's that about?” It was a surprise to hear, but she certainly wasn't going to believe it wasn't just spur of the moment to try to get Saren off their backs.

Mass Effect: Book 1- Transgressions (Complete) - Page 3 Empty "Why do people get killed?"

Post  Zayin Tue Oct 30, 2012 6:00 pm

    ~.:Braig Hellguard:. ~ .:Male:. ~ .:37:. ~ .:Human:. ~ .:Vanguard:. ~

    "Why do people get killed?"

Braig sat idly at the bar, drinking another glass of water. He was watching dumb extranet videos on his omnitool. On some level, he knew this was not the best idea, considering it left him distracted in one of the shadiest places in the galaxy, but boredom was worse, and he certainly was not a dancer. Checking the time, Braig saw that it had been about 30 minutes since he had sat down at the bar. He began to wonder if Numil, their volus benefactor, was going to show up. Braig had been subsequently informed in the past half-hour that Numil had sent a communication to his business partner back on Irune, indicating that he had discovered “the truth” about Cerberus’s activities and wanted nothing to do with it. This truth, whatever it was, made him fear for his life, which of course could not be tolerated. Numil had had too much contact and activity with Cerberus to just back out. He had been a financial contributor for just over a year.

Braig stood up and turned around to see where the heck this guy was, just as a rotund figure came waddling through the doorway. Braig sighed and walked forward to greet him. Numil was short and round in his pressure suit, which was black and accented green. He peered up through his round, lit eye holes and nervously spoke through his breather mask, “Uh, greetings earth-clan. Are you The Agent?”

“Aye, that’s me, volus,” Braig quickly replied, giving him a pat on the shoulder. “I believe we’ve met a couple times before. Am I correct, Numil?”

“Y-yes,” Numil was clearly unnerved. But then again, who wouldn’t be?

Braig got things moving, “Let’s get more private seats so we can talk.”

Braig maintained an uncomfortable proximity to the volus, always keeping him at arm’s length. He led the anxious alien to a back corner of the club to do business. They sat down at a booth. It was a little easier to hear in this corner, despite the still flashing lights and music. Numil popped out his omnitool and spoke between his heavy breaths, “Here is the agreed upon amount...is that all you need?”

“Not quite. You came all this way, let’s at least enjoy ourselves, eh?” Braig’s mannerisms were oddly friendly. The way his head darted around, scanning the area, the way he smiled. He acted like a drug dealer about to knock someone off. However, these odd mannerisms were not something Numil, with his different cultural outlook, understood. He shifted in his suit pressure suit, “Well, I have clients expecting me soon…I didn’t expect to uh…spend a lot of time here.”

“You see, I heard some sad news. A birdie told me that you want to end our partnership. Why is that?”

There was a pause. “What’s a, birdie?” Numil slowly replied.

“It’s alright, volus. Cerberus understands your hesitation. Some entities have given us a bad name, particularly smugglers and slave traders. What has troubled you about us? We would at least like to know why you want to end this business deal.” Braig never did like speaking in Cerberese.

“Wait, where did you hear that?...Look, I came into this…under the pretense that you did…humanitarian work. You were a group that stopped slave trading…and protected colonies, not kill turian primarchs! How can we be associated with you? I paid your people to protect…and assist with the development of the future…colony on the Alahya moon. My associates told me not to trust your people…but your prices were low…and you seemed more trustworthy than hiring mercenaries. In fact, since Cerberus ships have been patrolling the system…attacks and abductions have increased. Why should we keep wasting our money with you?!”

Braig took a moment to plan his next words. His mind was already made up on how this day would end up for Numil. It only depended on his response…

“If you want to end our arrangement, we completely understand, and that’s ok. Alright? No problem, volus.” He paused for a moment and looked down at the table. He leaned forward intently, purposefully. “Has anyone you’ve ever known well, been killed before? Perhaps intentionally? By someone?”

Anxiety began to set in for Numil, “Are you threatening me?!”

“No, it’s not a threat. Just a question.”

“I can’t say that I have…what do you want?” Numil replied nervously.

“Then let me ask you a question…just answer it, and you can leave.” Braig paused for a moment. “Why do people get killed?”

Numil thought for a moment, knowing his answer could be very important, but at the same time, panicking at what could happen in the moments to follow. He knew he should have hired extra protection for this meeting, but he didn’t want to waste the money. “Um, fate? Perhaps…it’s their time.”

“Alright, if you say so.” Braig replied simply. “That’s all, you can go, and we’ll pull our few ships out of your system.”

Numil hesitated before getting down from the booth seat, and carefully making his way out of the club. He breathed a sigh of relief from his bizarre encounter with the Cerberus agent he’d only met two other times. Numil had expected that to go much worse. He walked out of the automatic doors and waddled towards the docking area, where his small, rickety ship was located. Before he knew it, two hulking men in white armor briskly walked past him. Each grabbed one of his arms and hoisted him up like he was made of foam. Numil called out for help, but to no avail. Not only did few notice this event, but this was Omega, the last place to expect a helping hand. They swiftly carried him into an alley, and off into the darkness. The Cerberus laboratory was the next stop for him. The volus people had such a unique physiology, with biological secrets just waiting to be…excavated.

Braig stood up from his booth a couple of minutes later, after he received confirmation that the operation went as planned. He started back towards his ship, hoping to get some rest in a safe place before his next mission arrived.

    Felix Talibus

~. Turian .~ Male ~. 27 ~. Soldier: Havoc .~ “Wake up to the world Talibus, because one of these days one of your so called ‘friends’ will actually be your enemy, and then what will you do?”.~

Felix was surprised that the two females not only stayed to watch but also turned the whole situation around on him. Of course the human would be curious and Bane probably did not give a damn, he should have known better, as he became suddenly shy and turned his back to the two so as to get the blasted pants buckled up. He could feel eyes boring into him as he turned his head slightly to see Raziya eyeing him, “Hey, hey! This is not a free show. Honestly, you woman never cease to surprise me.” He chuckled softly to himself as he worked his stiff arm through the sleeve and finally covered his exposed torso. However much curiosity nagged him, he kept his back halfway turned to give the females privacy as they dressed as well. Respectfully averting his gaze and trying to loosen his arm a bit to relieve the soreness that had suddenly arisen there.

He heard Raziya’s voice speak behind him, stating that his arm was an unfortunate handicap which made him stiffen. He could feel the scar travel from the left side of his face to what was left of the muscle between his shoulder and neck. The stark white tissue was blatant against his dark skin and her question made a flash of memory arise and disappear. “…I got it while fighting a Cerberus agent in a dark alley…I was using Harry to get some men I was investigating to follow us but turned out Cerberus was behind it.” His voice grew more sullen as he recalled the scene, green eyes cast down towards the feet as he remembered the first day he had met the human Harry Torch. “Big old Cerberus agent jumped me while I wasn't looking and stupid me coming from a bar without any armor or kinetic shields. He tried to shoot my head off with a shotgun so I charged him and got my shoulder blown up instead.” He made a gesture with his hand to explain all this but still kept his back to her. The memory itself was not really that pleasant but he saw no reason in keeping it to himself, “Need to go and get the tissue realigned though. Pretty sure the doctor said something about physical therapy, but I can get that in the field. Either way, I get a sexy scar out of it and a slightly bad arm…in truth I should be dead really. Got lucky I suppose, but then again everything we have done so far has been sheer luck.” His tone was a bit cynical at the end. He did not wish to think about Harry when he knew she was probably dead by now.

Her next question though caught him off guard. He was surprised by it and turned to look at her sharply only to see that she was not fully clothed as he became suddenly embarrassed. He cast his gaze away quickly, more so to the fact that he had never seen a human so bare only to be met with the same scene from Bane. “I’m sorry. I need to go.” And with that he left the two females abruptly to dress, as he headed for the mess hall. He could feel his heart racing as he tried to calm his nerves, of course he would feel embarrassed in front of them. He was not used to such sights from other species besides his own and respected their privacy, most likely Raziya was still feeling the effects of her drink for her to act so openly to them. Noting the difference in his own kind and theirs as he avoided the question she had asked. He had probably offended them in some way in saying that they were friends. With the way Raziya had said it, he would not doubt they both thought it odd to be addressed as such. Felix had always thought that if you defended a comrade and they you, then that meant you were brother in arms. A friend…but perhaps it was different for other species. He was not exactly well liked for his easy acceptance of the other races and had always been condemned in some way for it. “Argh! Too many thoughts going on, you need to get it together Felix.” He entered the small room with a table in the middle of it. In his society the higher ranked male and females sat at the points while the lower ranks sat around them. Dominance, strength, perseverance, he recalled his days in the Turian military and simply took a seat without a second thought to it.

For a moment there was complete silence around him. The room was empty as the ship’s engine and hull echoed. The endless thrum as it moved through space made him relax a little as he placed both his talons on his brow plates and simply sat there. He wondered how his family was holding up and willed them to be strong while they faced Spirits know what. He thought about his life and how it had changed so abruptly to this, and he thought about what they would find at the end of it all. A sudden noise in front of him made him look up to see the large form of Saren sitting in front of him, eating provisions and simply glaring at him with those dark eyes. “Do you always allow others to sneak up on you unaware?” Saren spoke in his usual condescending tone as Felix clenched his mandibles tightly, “ Aren't you supposed to be flying the ship?” It was a question answering a question and Saren simply took another bite of his meal as he blinked slowly, “Omega is fourteen hours away and this ship can auto pilot for more than half the trip. You know this.” Felix silently cursed the Turian for his blatant remark but said nothing. He despised his obedience training and wanted to let loose a slue of insults at the male but was forced to comply.

Saren and Felix simply sat there in silence. Both ignoring the other till the older Specter was finished with his meal. Saren certainly seemed to be taking his time as Felix willed him to go away and leave him the hell alone. But it appeared that Saren was in no hurry to move on as he sat back down in front of Felix with a steely gaze. “I have taken the liberty to read up on your reports thus far. I expected more from the elder son of Talibus. How far you have fallen.” Felix simply glared at him, never blinking as he continued on, “Your report says you and your brother were a part of the 26th tier: Havoc Soldier first strike team division. You in particular were given countless strikes against your record for speaking out against your commanding officer and finally being demoted for attacking said Commander of your squad. Deported to C-sec on the Citadel instead of being imprisoned, lucky you. Shall I continue?” Felix was appalled by how Saren threw out his past like an open book and began to click his mandibles in anger, “So do you make it a habit to dig up old shitty reports like that? Or are you naturally this much of an ass.” Saren was not amused as Felix finally let his tongue loose on a Turian of much higher rank than he. “I’m simply stating the facts Talibus. I always make sure to know who is around me and who I ‘dare’ call a friend. Have you even looked up the reports on your two allies? The human used to work with Terra Firma, the Krogan has daddy issues, and the one that was shot in the head has never seen a day in battle.”

Felix just stared; he had not looked up the profiles of Bane or Raziya even though as a Specter it was within his right to do so. A part of him felt like it did not matter and the past should not judge one’s character for who they were currently. But Saren seemed adamant on making him see the bare truth of everything. “You need to grow up. Prancing around like a love struck pup and making nice with the aliens will get you nowhere. Wake up to the world Talibus, because one of these days one of your so called ‘friends’ will actually be your enemy, and then what will you do? Will you choose to sacrifice one for the many? Or condemn thousands for the sake of an individual? There is so much more to being a Specter than you realize and it disgusts me how freely you give yourself to these races without a second thought at what it is you must really do.” Felix was overwhelmed with hate and anger, part of him knew Saren spoke the truth while the other rejected his ideals. Saren stood, never letting his gaze falter as he continued to glare down at him, “Your relationship that you showed toward the human female Harry Torch is what was truly appalling though. Did you actually believe two species of such diverse genes and background could ever be taken as a bond mate?” Felix felt his heart skip as Saren brought out such a sensitive subject and he broke under the gaze with shame. He turned his head, allowing Saren his win as the older male reveled in his victory. “The human was pronounced dead not long ago. There. Now you can focus on what is actually important.” Felix heard the echoed footsteps as Saren left the hall and he was left alone in a broken state. ‘Harry was dead?’ He should have expected that with such a wound and yet he had held out foolish hope.

He finally let out a heavily suppressed growl and stood up, throwing the seat he had been using against the wall as it clattered loudly unto the floor. Breathing heavily, he turned to go to the training room. He would not be seen in such a rage here and at least there he could take out all his hate and hurt on something more substantial. Anything to rid his mind of Saren’s ugly face, of the information he threw at him, of his past, of the death of harry, of his friends, of his family…of everything! The training doors swooshed open before him as he walked into the small room. This area was specifically made for his kind to fight it out just before battle, a way to get Turians ready for bloodshed and to become more violent in their actions. A perfect place for him to unleash his pent up fury and to pretend he was punching Saren’s face in instead of taking his anger out on a simple chair. He forcefully took off his long sleeved coat and proceeded to beat the life out of the equipment before him. Relishing the pain in his left arm and striking back with his right. Each strike, kick, or punch was delivered with a hateful force as Felix finally let his anger loose in what had seemed like years…

His breath came in forced grunts, the effort behind each strike filled with so much more than a simple action, as he punished the training equipment before him. What Saren had said was wrong, and he would not accept it. Just like he would not accept his orders from his commander so many years ago, and how he refused to let all this racism get in the way of everything. Saren hated humans, that was a given fact, but it was not necessary to take it out on others around him at every chance he had. Felix stopped, panting heavily as his mandibles flared while he breathed. Saren had won, he had gotten to him and Felix was upset because of that, but he had to let Harry go or he would be compromising both him and his team. He let his head look up at the sealing with his eyes closed, trying his best to calm his breathing, “May the Spirits guide you in your travels Harry…” He paused, knowing that humans had their own beliefs as he tried to recall them, “May God be with you.” That was it, right? He could not rightly remember but felt more at peace as he wished Harry’s spirit safe travels and blessings. Opening his eyes, Felix leaned against the cool ship walls. He felt such a heavy weight being lifted from his shoulders as he finally unleashed his anguish and let his friend, Harry, go. The cold walls gave him a chill as his bare back rested against it and he slumped to the floor, tired and spent, as his rage finally released him and he spoke softly to himself. “Alright…alright, I will focus now. Cerberus is going to pay for what they did but first comes my team.” They would die the moment they faced a full battalion of Cerberus agents if they were not dependent on one another. He would need to show Raziya and Bane that they could trust him, in his decisions, and lastly, as a friend. “Damn I need a drink.” He rubbed his talons over his face and dragged them behind his neck to wipe the sweat away but sat there in silence as he thought about what Saren had said to him. For some reason he felt more lighter now that he had gotten all that out of his system, but a part of him still could go for another round...

Bane stretched her thick shoulders and stood up, rotated her head and cracking her neck. She was relatively closely matched in looks to a male Krogan, the only big differences were a thinner waist, longer neck, and slightly smaller shoulders. She was still considered 'buff' to the males. After her usual stretching and joint popping, her stomach growled. All she had at Chora's Den was 6 glasses of Rancol. No food.

    "I'm gonna go look around."

She told Razi on the way out, walking out with nothing on but the bottom half of her body suit on. She honestly didn't care who saw her scars, they were trophies for her race. Signs of toughness and victories in battle. Her bare foot made surprisingly little noise, only thudding slightly on the smooth floor. She winced as she accidentally kicked an over turned chair. She had been so deep in though that she didn't even notice. Bane kicked it up-right and wondered what it was doing all the way over here when she stopped. The very angry pheromone of Felix was all over it. Along with a faint Saren. A low rumble came from her as she continued to the hall, remembering how he mocked them like mere children.

She snorted with irritation at the confusing hallways when she heard thudding and banging from a room further down. Curiosity got the better of her. She peeked around the door and saw the source. Felix. Bane could feel the anger radiating off him in waves.

    "What did Saren exactly say?...."

She watched him for a good five minutes, even after he slumped to the floor. The anger was gone from him now, only...sadness? The image of Harry flashed back into her head and it clicked. He lost a team mate. A comrade. ..a Friend. Her eyes glanced from him to the floor in thought, getting up and walking into the room. She stopped in front of and looked down at him, the usual irritated stare not there for once. It was good minute of deep thought and she held out her hand, offering to help him up. It was a bold move for the brutal female, this show of future kinship. Whether she wanted it or not, these aliens were her new team mates. She was committed to this now.

"Get up, Turian. I doubt that she would want to see you on your knees."

“Why so shy, suddenly, Felix?” Raziya teased the turian when he realized that he wasn't going to chase them out of the room by just taking his shirt off. The human in the group chuckled at the change of behavior even as she changed into clean clothes. She shoved the torn and bloody pieces that were left over from her old clothes into a corner, hoping to discard them as soon as possible. Preferably burning them, but she had a feeling that lighting a fire on Saren's ship was not a smart idea.

Listening to the story of how he got that scar, Razi suddenly started to sober up some more and the grin faded from her face. “Came out with a hell of a story, though,” she said at the end, patiently listening throughout the entirety of it. “But I do hope you've learned your lesson; not sure where that would leave me if you get your head blown off instead like that.” As far as for her own concern, she considers herself a hired thug whose life is more easily replaceable, but she was not about to announce that to the other two.

His immediate lack of response to her curious questioning made her scowl after him. “It was a simple freakin' question. Not even personal. Right?” That was to Bane, of course, since having ingested the alcohol did make her wonder if the question had come out wrong... maybe in some way referring back to the recent loss of his close human friend. “Damn it all, I should probably just shut up, shouldn't I?”

When the krogan leaves after their Spectre leader, she made sure to stay behind for a bit longer instead. She checked her things, checked over her pistol to be certain it was in top condition (wouldn't want to find it malfunction in the middle of battle) and finally was encouraged out of the safety of their quarters by the painful squeeze of her stomach demanding something to eat. It had only had breakfast, the short little meeting with food that Felix provided, and then had to go through all that energy drain during the fight. With the adrenaline using up most of it and the alcohol burning away the rest, she was starving and getting quite the headache.

Raziya was well aware that Saren lurked the ship as well, which is why she made sure that the areas were cleared before she traversed them to find food. Clearly she was confused by the emptiness of the mess hall, not finding her companions there. She did not have the olfactory senses of a krogan but she could tell something was wrong. It did not stop her from getting a quick meal, grabbing some bars to go before following her instinct (or rather the banging) to spy on what the cause of it might be. Arriving not too long after Bane, in fact, she had already managed to stuff one down before trying to figure out what had been going on. She hung back in the shadows, watching the slumped defeated looking turian and then krogan female approach... If Bane could show that sign of camaraderie, why was she still hanging back in silence?

She nibbled a bit of a second bar, stuffed it in the pocket of her loose cargo pants, and went to join the other two if only by allowing her presence to show she was with them. It was a good thing she had not heard of Saren's words before, revealing a piece of her past long buried; for now she was unaware and showed at least her own desire to form a friendship/bond in this oncoming battle.
